FAQs

What is equine assisted experiential learning?

Our program partners you with a horse on your journey of self-discovery and awareness.  As prey animals, horses are much more keenly aware of their emotions and their environment.  As humans, we are taught from childhood to “Scarlett O’hara” and “think about that tomorrow”.  At Unbridled, we help make that “tomorrow” happen today to help release you from self-defeating patterns of thought and behaviour.

Do I need previous horse experience?  What if I’m afraid of horses?

No experience required.  I carefully select the horses I partner with to ensure your safety.  Every program includes a ten minute safety demo.  If you are nervous around horses, this is a safe and supportive place to practice walking into your fear.

Will we be riding horses?

Unbridled programs are not riding lessons.  Our focus is in learning to build a relationship with a being who has very different skills and language than we do, and little to no ability to mask what they are feeling.  The goal is to develop transferable skills that will make a difference in your life and your relationships with people.

What do I need to wear?

Please wear casual clothes you won’t mind getting dirty.  Closed toed shoes are good, but boots are better.  No sandals, high heels or formal wear, please….

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a willingness to learn and experience something new!  We provide all necessary equipment.  You may choose to bring a journal to record your experiences.
